In 6 months, 20 Group Dealer Trades reaches $2M in Settled Transactions Volume

www.20groupdealertrades.com introduces Live Bids on its platform to allow Dealers to purchase cars in 10 seconds or less.

In December 2018, the yield spreads between the 3 year and 5 year treasury dipped down below zero. An inverted yield curve almost always means that a recession is within a few months away. As new cars sales start to slow, Delaware Ford Dealer will have a hard time finding used units for inventory, especially since the legacy auctions have hit a high mark in transactional prices. (No surprise there!)

20 Group Dealer Trades was created by Delaware Ford Dealer, Santosh Viswanathan in June 2018. Santosh Viswanathan created the platform to meet the need in shortage of quality used vehicles and sky high auction prices. A study commissioned by a large dealer group on the East Coast pointed to www.20groupdealertrades.com as the cheapest used car acquisition source compared to all the auctions in the U.S. (This study is available upon request). Says Santosh Viswanathan, “We franchised Dealers have had a huge inventory sourcing problem for many years now”.

The Live Bids option allows a Dealer to pre-populate the reserve price. The reserve price is what a Dealer needs to draw at a minimum for an inventory item to sell the unit. The Live Bid then starts at the reserve price and goes up or down at random. For inventory items that are heavily aged, this may be a number that’s really aggressive as opposed to inventory items that are fairly fresh. Says Santosh Viswanathan, at Willis Ford – Ford dealer Smyrna, “anything over 30 days is launched up on the Portal. For those items that we know we haven’t had any action on, we set that reserve price real low so that it sells as opposed to another car that might have a fair amount of action on it. The best part is that the buyer doesn’t have to spend a lot of time on buying. The Live Bid lasts only 10 seconds”. Says Santosh Viswanathan, “On our platform, Dealers have saved time & money that goes right to your bottom line”.
